The DNA Splitter can be used to detach the desired genes. If more than one useful gene has been found, you'll be able to choose, which of them is going to be isolated. There's an automatable version of the DNA Splitter too. It's called the DNA Auto Splitter, but it will only split Basic Gene. As every machine it requires energy to run.
