MJ Reader (Also called Multimeter) is a tool added by Thermal Expansion. The MJ reader allows you to do a few things, read network saturation, conduit averages, and the energy requested by a machine.
Network Saturation:
To read network saturation (how full the buffer is on a line of conduits) simply use the MJ Reader on a conduit that is not an output. Below are a few example outputs.
This is the network saturation from a line of conduits that is outputting as much as it is inputting. The amount of energy flowing is 4.8% of the maximum it can hold.
This is the network saturation from a network that has a constant input, but the output is full. This allowed it to completely fill the buffer.
Average Distribution:
To read the average output of an output conduit, simply use the MJ reader on an output conduit. This will start the monitoring process, you can then use it again to get the average (Doing so before 20 ticks will not skew results, and will tell you how many ticks were averaged). Below is an example of some conduits outputting to an Redstone Energy Cell.
Energy Requested:
This will work on any machine that accepts Buildcraft power (and implemented the proper API's). It will return the amount of power the machine is requesting at the EXACT tick that you use it. Note: This may be hard to understand as many machines (read: quarry) request many different amounts depending on what they are doing. Below is an example of an Redstone Energy Cell set to input 100MJ/t that can accept the full amount (If this had 599990 MJ the request would have been 10 instead of 100).
